Creating a Safer Adelaide
Continuing to make the city streets safer is beneficial to all Adelaidians. Creating precincts with better lighting in which people want to congregate together in a relaxed atmosphere will offer residents, visitors and people working in the city the ability to move through the city safely, whether on foot, bikes or in vehicles.
Did you know that many of our CCTV cameras already installed are not monitored? Although they may be recording to enable Police to identify perpetrators if an incident happens, this concept is reactive moreso than proactive.
By investing in small buses in town and creating linking paths and corridors from the city fringe into the CBD, we can create safe spaces where people can walk or cycle freely without worrying about vehicles. Additionally, using themed gardens and agriculture around these corridors would enhance the experience and make it a relaxing and enticing option to driving.
